Fishbowl's platform is quickly becoming the daily hub for conversations amongst professionals in the same industry and already has captured more than 20% of certain industries.

We are looking for our first designer to join the team - a designer that has the perspective and empathy to create an experience for users that is enjoyable and clear, as well as the eye to make that experience beautiful.

Fishbowl's first designer will oversee design across the Fishbowl mobile app, the website, as well as any branding elements. He or she will work to understand Fishbowl users' needs, goals, and desires, and then use this knowledge to craft compelling and useful experiences that deliver real and lasting value.

The ideal candidate is product oriented, can easily communicate his or her ideas both visually and verbally, and can handle a fast-paced, quickly changing environment. You’re a self-starter, and thrive when given the opportunity to have a huge impact. 

You’ll be working with all members on the Fishbowl team, from the cofounders, to the marketing and community teams, to the engineering team.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the UI and/or UX tracks on projects for the mobile app and Fishbowl's other properties.
  • Create highly crafted visual and UX design deliverables, including interface designs, wireframes, personas, product concepts, prototypes, and style guides.
  • Present the work and supporting rationale confidently to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

 
Qualifications: 

  • You are passionate about design, technology, and community.
  • Strong portfolio of end-to-end UI/UX work for mobile and web applications.
  • You master design software including Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision, as well as prototyping tools. 
  • You are a collaborative and versatile team player and are able to work iteratively in a highly Agile environment. 
  • You can develop personas, user journeys, wireframes, user flows, and prototypes. (UX research and testing experience a plus). 
  • You can create moodboards, design concepts, interfaces, and visual design systems.
  • You have the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas.

Lead iOS Developer

We are looking for a talented and experienced iOS engineer to be Fishbowl’s lead mobile developer. The ideal candidate is design and product oriented, and is used to translating a vision into a beautiful mobile experience that delights users. You’re a scrappy self-starter, and thrive when given the opportunity to have a huge impact. 


You’ll be the iOS lead developer for our popular iOS app that is used on average 15 minutes per day by our users. You’ll be coordinating with our backend engineer (Node.js/Mongo/Heroku) as well as another mobile developer (Android focused).


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver innovative, engaging client-facing products on mobile devices (iOS).
  • Provide a level of technical leadership to the mobile application development team.
  • Apply engineering best practices with unit-tests, code reviews, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Work with remote teams in an Agile environment.

 
Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related education/experience
  • 3+ years of experience with iOS mobile apps development
  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • Strong product sensibilities.
  • Expert with Objective-C (and Swift preferably), iPhone SDK and native application development
  • Expert with developing adaptive user interfaces that scale to different form factors
  • Live apps on the AppStore that you played a key role in developing
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Passion for learning technologies, sharing with team and growing
